Investigation of the disturbances in the interplanetary and geomagnetic field

MHD Computer Simulations of Space plasma and geomagnetic Phenomena: A case Modeling: Plasma clouds are released in the Interplanetary Space after Solar CMEs. These clouds can cause changes of the Earth space environment, i.e. changes of the SPACE WEATHER. In similar disturbed conditions in many cases we have GEOMAGNETIC STORMS and other geospace phenomena.

A computer simulation of the disturbance propagation from the Sun to the Earth orbit is made for a particular CME. MHD conservation equations were solved numerically by using Euler-Lagrangian sheme and one of the obtained results is shown in the figure:

This is the disturbance of the radial velocity component of the interplanetary plasma (solar wind) 40 hours after the CME. As can be seen from the picture the disturbance front is at the Earth orbit at this hour.
