Public and private consumers
NOTSSI and the Department of Seismology of the Geophysical institute of BAS is the only organization in Bulgaria in charge of acquisition of seismological information and is the national information center of rapid earthquake information and seismic hazard mitigation. In the case of a felt earthquake on the territory of Bulgaria, the information is transmitted to the Council of Ministers, the Governmental Commission of Disasters, the State Agency Civil Protection and other interested organizations, including mass media and general public - these are the main public consumer of the seismology information.
Due to the possibilities for recording, analyis, processing and interpretation of local seismological information some local or regional monitoring of seismicity could be performed in Seismological Department. Seismic zoning, seismic microzoning and seismic risk assessment and potential damages from buildings and infrastructure destructions are other seismology applied investigations for contracting with interested organizations. The main consumers here are MRRB, NPP"Kozloduy", NPP "Belene", "ProvadSol", ÄÏ "ÐÀÎ", Agency of sustainable development and European integration.
